Shipping companies in the U.S.
« on: May 12, 2015, 04:58:14 PM »
Ohh exhalted and learned ones with the wizdom of the gods... I have heard of companies that will accept shipping from within the U.S. and redirect it to Australia for a small fee .. Has anyone used said companies and could advise on who where what and $$  etc ..
The wife is needing  some Orthotics to assist in her walking, $$ wise they are pretty expensive here in Oz best part of $200 each X 2 needed and only $60 ea in the U.S. ..same brand same company ..
As they wear out fairly quickly costs will add quickly too ..
Thanks in advance

I think even Australia post are offering that service now?  Ship it used to be another one. But Amazon will often ship here, you just need to progress through to checkout to see.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

Thanks Jim We will look into the Oz post bit.  Not real sure how Amazon works as they list a package unit at XX $$,  but has three seperate suppliers for the three components listed  and two of them won't ship to OZ, we only find that part out when you go to finalise payment at checkout ..

Aust post have a service called Shopmate. I've used it a couple of times, but you need to do the sums. I think they are a minimum $25ish + about $6 per 500g. You set up an account with them and they give you a US address to use when you purchase your item. Once it arrives at that US address, they contact you with a shipping price from there to Aus.

Shipito or ships to was a company a guy at work used. He's now left so can't ask.  But Shipito have a freight calculator.

Apparently buying from Oregon is cheaper as they have no sales tax.

I buy my running shoes from the U.S. Via Amazon. I can get two pairs landed in Australia for less than the cost of buying a single pair here, for the same shoe.  Even if the GST threshold was lowered it would still be cheaper

Shipitto is the one to use. I've used them a few times and never had an issue.

The Australia Post one is a ripoff. From memory, it's actually run by Singapore Post.
