how much would u pay.
« on: May 06, 2015, 05:06:51 PM »
Million $ question really.

The wife and I are looking at new 4wd as we now live in Darwin and our style of camping and exploring  are changing. So my very well set up land cruiser would be much better suited for what I spec'ed it up for. The hi country.

Problem is I have no idea what to sell it for.

WHAT would you think as a far price for a
landcruise 105 (live front axle) with a 1HD FTE full conversion including gear box.
full safari incooler.
3" exhaust
chip it chip.
3" lift
33 muddies
ARB lockers.
Bull bar
Warn winch.
Plus some more.

It has been a weapon of a 4wd, a few love taps but well maintained.

All thoughts welcome.

Joe

Sounds perfect for the top end.....muddies may not be needed, but it does get wet up there !!

What are you doing that doesn't suit it ??

Looking at upgrading.  A new patrol y62 or a new L/C 200.

We are still getting out but at a slower pace.  Its been a great 4wd but the wife would like to upgrade. I would prefer to keep it, but we cannot see the sense in having 2 4wd in the drive way.

This will smash your price.  Can you get them fixed.  Even a couple of thousand spent with a full detail would get you heaps more back.  I wouldnt touch anything that looks like its been dented even though its well maintained.

(just my thought)

All ready considered that, as I do agree. The 2 dents should pop out and a good cut and polish would make it look nearly new again..
Cheers joe

270,000km on the 4wd.
100,000km on the 1hd fte. Was from a 2007. Also the matching gear box.

only 100 000 klms all up on the engine, or is that what it's done in your vehicle?
if it's the first one, then it's pretty low klms and not many like that around now....proving it's only done those klms is the hard part i guess

All up on the engine.  I was lucky if I did 10,000km per year. I was never home. I know what you mean about proving the km. Im pretty sure the mechanic still has the paper work with all the original km, car year etc you get when you buy it. But I will have to follow that up.

It's pretty hard to put a figure on that sort of vehicle...i see on LCOOL it's a 2000 model 105 series, so that's 15 years old now. The klms on the engine is a big plus, but for me a 15 year old vehicle is a big negative also. I considered doing a similar swap to my 105 series (was toying with the idea of different engines to put in), but in the end i'd still have a 13 year old vehicle, so i have decided it's time to go newer all over now. That likely won't put someone off who's specifically looking for that type of vehicle though, they are comfy to drive and the engine is barely run in.

so buy the wife a car to get around in - and keep what you have... Makes 0 sense to lose thousands on what you have, cause in Darwin from what mate says they don't get top $$$ specially when from interstate.... He got offered sub 10k's for his GU... which he still has now.

And its stupid expensive to start setting up a 4wd from scratch again and you already have it setup..

or are you just after some retail therapy ???

I don't "feel" like I will lose thousands.  It been a great 4wd. I love it. It has done and allowed us to do what I build it to be. The money has been well spent. Its still a "older 4wd".
I cannot do any more to it so I think I don't mind starting again.
The wife has a new small car which I would like to keep as a good run around.

Joe..

It's certainly worth a bit more than what the 1HD-FTE from 2006/2007 (thought they last sold those in 2006 - I have one) is worth and that engine must be worth a fair few $$$ alone.
