Ego 56v Cordless Chainsaw
« on: April 27, 2015, 01:43:38 PM »
First impressions, this certainly isn't like any other cordless chainsaw that I've seen, it's big, it's heavy and looks very solid. The battery is massive  :o .

It had 3 manuals in the box, 1 for the saw , 1 for the battery and 1 for the charger, mostly safety issues ( NO chinglish ) for the darwinites

No styrene foam packing, it's all cardboard.  :cup:

Compare the size of the phone (Samsung, not mini )

Just waiting for the batteries to get to full charge then I'll try it on an old redgum fence post   >:D

Both batteries recharged and ready to go

Tested on an old redgum fence post in the back yard, did 5 cuts, each took around 6 seconds with out any effort and virtually no downwards pressure except for the weight of the chainsaw.  :cup:

Noise, what noise, loudish whine, but not as loud as most women,  >:D , you wouldn't hear it from 50 metres, national parks here I come

That's a good video. 12 inch log cut! You can keep your petrol saws and stinky fuel. Of course the most important thing with any saw is a good, SHARP chain. Even my little 18v with an 8 inch bar can get through 6 inch ironbark with a sharp chain.

I think the fact it runs Oregon running gear might sway me to this one,
plus a staff discount of masters.
I will go down the 5 ah route tho.
