Top choice of fridge/fridges
I am and have been a Trailblazer fridge believer/lover/user/owner for a bloody long time.
Firstly I must admit that my Trailblazer fridge is now not working, but that is no fault of the manufactures , it is my fault. I made a rookie error when changing out a plug and fitting an Anderson plug, I somehow did not take enough care when making up the plug and reversed the polarities, and by doing this I have buggered up the compressor on my fridge when I powered it up.
Now that is out of the way, I will tell my tale.
I was first introduced to the Trailblazer fridges in the early 80"s by a Telecom tower builder.
Telecom as it was known then, had done extensive research on portable 12 volt fridges. This was during the time when Telecom were building phone towers all across Australia, and their workers needed to be able to stay out in the wilderness for long extended periods of time, camping at the tower sites during the building phase.
They , (Telecom), tested all of the then popular camp fridges and over a period of time they , (Telecom), found that the Trailblaizer fridge was the only fridge that would stand up to the punishment that the crews and the harsh environment could throw at them.
We as a family own three ( 3 ) Trailblazer Fridges, my father bought his , 60 litre, in the mid eighties, my brother bought his, (a second hand 70 litre ) in the late eighties and mine a 80 ltre was bought new in 1988.
30 plus years usage from these Trailblazer Fridges is why I am a big fan of them, you get what you pay for.
I have just , yesterday, taken deliver of a new replacement fridge for my buggered Trailblazer , an EvaKool IB100 Dual Zone Portable fridge/freezer. Will it last as long as my old Trailblazer, I doubt it. I will get the Trailblazer repaired and have a second fridge as backup on long trips away.
