After doing lots of weekend type trips and then going away for a couple of weeks, one thing I forgot was a length of food grade hose for filling up the camper water tanks after a week or so on the road.  There was always someone willing to loan us one in the caravan parks though.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your preparation as well as your trip.  Keep the dream alive!!!

Crazy dog has pretty much covered just about everything for a year on the road.
Only thing I would argue strongly on is the taking of a personal slave!!!
I usually AM the personal slave..... ;D ;D ;D

Just one helpful suggestion.
Make a full list of what you take. When you get home from every trip you do, delete one item that you found unnecessary.
After a while your list will be accurate.

Cheers

if you take to much down size at a local op shop they will be almost as pleased as you will be .
i try to have 3 uses for everything or it stays home
eg. shovel
defence , should there be decent in the ranks
extraction , destucking should this happen
nature , should the call come
anyway you get the drift        plan all you need then leave 1/2 or more at home

clothes - get out what you want to take, put it on the bed, and then put half of it back! You'll find you will just wear the same things most of the time. Depending on where you are going, it may be a week or so between times when you can wash, and at $4 a load in the caravan parks, you want to be doing as little as possible. You find you just make your clothes last.

We have a bucket with a good lid on it
I found it was good except when u had to rinse the darn clothes, at one stage i
didn't add washing power too it.  Made it easier and they where still clean enough for us

No, I think you just about have it all covered and quite sanely so as well. It helps makes a crappy job seem a real pleasure to do. Too bad you can't utilise it when packing up.

It is not unusual to have a coldy cracked prior to setting up. Though I will select a spot and park first. This can be an arduous task in itself the aftermath of which demands tempering with a soothing coldy. This then puts one in the correct mindset for the setup itself.  :cup:

Mrs Snow can fully attest to it to the dribble I have just written. "It works, truely it does luvie" ;D ;D

Tommo, there is no formula for this because we are all different. The list up the page looks to cover 97% of what you need and a heap you don't so have good hard look at what's there.

What I will add to your mix is the idea that you need to leave some empty space in your rig. You will need to change the way you do things occasionally to get the best, most convenient, systems happening and the ability to repack without it being like a space puzzle will make that easier. Also, you will need to add the odd thing from time to time so that will need space as well. Even just going down to Coles to do the shopping can be trying when the car is always chockers.

No idea how much camper touring you have done but believe me when I tell you that your experience will be so much better if you stay lean on your takings. keeping things light and packed for convenience is the key to good times.

It would help if you told us what sort of camper you will be travelling with (and no, I don't mean your partner!).  What comes with it as standard?  How big is it?  What are you towing it with?  All makes a difference.
Camping is great as long as the mattress is inner spring!
