Portable toilets

Getting down to basics here.... :D
Wanting to invest in a portable toilet to increase our campsite options with our CT, and figured now might be a good time with a couple of sales that are currently on-                             
 Looking for recommendations, and why. Also what brands to steer clear of, and why.

Be careful with the new pressure Dometic units. SWMBO and her cousin bought new units 18months ago. Both will be thrown out at the end of this summer as they have hairline cracks around the top and won't hold pressure. We've been using buckets of water to flush. Both happened after the warranty ran out, both faulty in same spot. Hairline cracks also pinched and grabbed where the sun don't shine.

Easter last year we bought one as we were going to Gordon Country and had been warned the facilities could be pretty rank when they're busy and it gives you the option of other parts of the property.  As it was a just in case purchase we didn't want to spend a lot, I was expecting it would be about $100+. 

We ended up with a CampEzi 20L from tent world we got it for $60.  Plus another $20 for an oztrail canvas bag for it.

I think it's great for what we paid.  It's sturdy, flushes alright, has a good capacity, and there was a spare seal for the tank and valve for the flushing thing as well,i think.

One word of warning make sure the lid of the tank is done up tight.

Yes, this would also be a just in case purchase too. The idea of having to revisit the doings to dispose of it later, really does not thrill us, however we can see the case for it.

It was a just in case purchase but we have used it a fair bit and I think it was money we'll spent.  But your right dealing with it at the end of the trip is the s#!t part  :laugh:
