yep, just got home from Mt Buffalo and can see the clouds brewing to the north east from my back yard.   We had a bit of thunder and lightning up there last night, but nothing came of it.

Just got home from the HC. Was going to stay another day but could see what was brewing. Looks like we made the right decision. Couldn't complain though had 9 days of superb weather and sitting and drinking in the river. Copped some gout thought because of it ???

For people in parts of the
 Northern Country and
 North East Forecast Districts.

Issued at 7:15 pm Saturday, 2 January 2016.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, large hailstones and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Echuca, Shepparton, Yarrawonga, Wangaratta and Euroa.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the North Central district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

The State Emergency Service advises that rainfall run-off into waterways in recent fire affected areas may contain debris such as soil, ash, trees and rocks. People in fire affected areas should also be alert to the potential for landslides and debris across roads.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
 * Keep clear of fallen power lines.
 * secure any loose objects in the vicinity of your home.
 * keep away from creeks and drains.
 * do not drive vehicles through flooded areas.
 * stay indoors if possible.
 * Avoid using the phone during the storm.
 * if you are outside, avoid sheltering under trees
 * listen to the radio for storm updates
 * switch off your computer and electrical appliances
The next warning is due to be issued by 10:15 pm.

Driving home from Shepparton this arvo the sky got darker than a black cows guts at midnight & lightening . Then it hit , big old fat rain . The traffic slowed to a crawl on the highway , or pulled over .
When l got to town the rain gauge showed 23MM  & that was 1 1/2 hours ago & its still thundering , & pi55ing down .
The question l ask is " How long can you tread water "
