Couple of wraps of detcord or shearcord would fix that sucker. It'd be a tricky one to saw through.

A few years ago I got caught in a windstorm like that up the back of Healesville.  It's been the only time in my life I was genuinely scared.

We got a job to a tree across the road so headed off to investigate, whether SES were needed etc.  The wind hadn't picked up at that stage.  On the way there the guy driving said we won't be going back that way.  A big tree had fallen across the road as we drove under it.  As we drove along we passed other trees that had partly fallen, but been caught up in others.  A bit further up we came across the tree that we were attending.  It was huge and by now the wind had really picked up.  We parked the car and luckily in the forest on the other side was a small clearing about 50m square. We stood in the middle and tried to work out where each tree would land near us.  Every few minutes we would hear a crash and in the distance you would see the trees falling.

After a while someone must have cleared the first tree as a few people would drive up to our car and beckon us over.  F... that you walk to me.  We would suggest they wait with us until it died down, but no they wanted to drive back the other way.  After the wind dropped we were out of there.

That same day a few people died in the area from trees falling.

That’s the anti headlight brigade, they work on the theory if they can’t see you, you can’t see them.

Neighbour up the road built a retaining wall out of Besser blocks and rendered it. He then bolted a 6 foot high Colorbond fence to it. In this wind the fence acted like a sail. The fence is now leaning at 20 degrees and has taken the top 3 courses of bricks with it.

Nothing like you guys down south are getting, but its forecast for Windy here.
Its the top end of the stuff you guys have now.

At present, we should be getting 20-25 knots of wind.
Not even a puff of wind outside.  ???

I might be retracting that statement later.... but happt for the wind to bugger off.
Waaay too dry here at the moment for any wind.

Did you get any of the rain, last night? We missed out, but a mate near Marburg got a good drop.
