Alpine annexe V's Fiamma Awning??
« on: February 26, 2015, 08:23:05 AM »
We are in the middle of sorting out our extras on a Jayco Flamingo Outback, does anyone have an opinion on the $2,000 Alpine canvas annexe with walls as opposed to the $1,000 wind out Fiamma awning without walls? ??? ???

Are you going to use walls?

Realistically we would use them a couple times a year camping with the family up Dargo and Buchan way. When we go on bigger outback trips I can't see them being used to be honest. I do like the canvas roof though, looks great quality.

I'd go with the Fiamma and just add the c-gear shade screen walls for the odd occasion you want to enclose the space...

How do you attach the c-gear side wall to the end of the fiamma,do you have to buy the deflapper things for it.

Do the Velcro straps hold up in wind? Looks flimsy.

I've used them on my two previous campers without an issue... Never come undone. Because its shade cloth and there are air gaps around the bottom and top it doesn't flap like a sail or solid wall would in the same conditions.

We have the fiamma, its so easy to wind out and wind in. Great for quick stops. We also have canvas walls we put up for extended stays which are great.

Yep do the same think just attach it to the arms of the fiamma. Pretty sturdy and i just undo the velcro and drop it to the ground if really windy
