Is it a sign of the times, with more cops on the road - or is it sad that theres enough people driving pissed as **** cockheads (2 of em over .255) that we can have a series RBT show - not just one season but like the 8th season

2 young dudes on 12 hour binges... then driving around.
This dude .255 roadside is off his head, on his expiried L plates, crashed the car the works.
the other went .255 at the station!

Try 16th season LOL

During lock down, been youtubing a lot since FTA TV isnt worth pissing on... Lots of Jack Absalom, Mal Douglas, Ted Egan, Les Hiddens etc

Imagine having had the chance to have done a trip with Jack, or Mal Douglas, or Ted Egan, or Les Hiddens or even the Leylands..  Or sittin round a campfire for a weekend listening to the stories of these blokes... What an education and fascinating it would have been..
Most of these great people are gone now, many stories gone for good.

Which would be your favorite story teller out of these guys? They all had such different ways of telling similar stories.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw they had that many seasons.. I reckon I have only seen about half a dozen individual episodes, repeated numerous times.

I thought I was being generous with 8...  but seems like most TV these days ... look at MASH.. somehow those same 15-20 episodes are running 30 + yrs later.

Actually 11 series for 256 episodes!

Mrs always watched Heartbeat & they keep starting to repeat that from episode 1, get all the way up to series 6 or so then jump to series 10 ???

You're all probably aware of the term Dick Noses, to describe when somebody is only wearing their mask over their mouth, not their nose  >:(

Had to go to Bunnings earlier (& unlike most people, actually checked in, washed my hands & wore my mask – properly!), but while there, spotted what I guess must be called an Arse Hole ???

What else do you call someone who has their mask over their nose, but with their mouth fully exposed ??? >:( ::)

& don't get me started on the young "lady" (???) who was in such a hurry that she had to push past me on the escalator, so she could then stop behind the couple 2m in front of me. Yes, that saved you all of ½ second! ::) ;D >:D, & the idea of the mask is that you put it on earlier, not as you're walking in past the checkouts  >:(

At my local Bunnings (Stafford, QLD) , I’d say I haven’t seen anyone not log in. Totally different down at my local green grocer though.

Yea Les has a special way of connecting I reckon, same as Malclom

Been watching lots of them over last few weeks, and how minimalistic their camping and traveling was... Ya gotta love how they did it.. Jack in the Sigma is a classic example LOL!

Some of the early remote travel that  Mal did would bring me to quitting the trip real quick!

No real spot to put this post, so just plonked it in here.

Yesterday, we towed the Zephyr, with a 1 year old, Nissan Pathfinder. (2 wheel drive)

We were going steady freddy until we cleared some fog, turned onto a 100 kph road.... and Doug gave the thing some herbs.
He didn't hammer it or anything stupid, but did get the V6 petrol up and moving.

Next minute, he's got the steering wheel moving side to side by maybe an inch or so.

I looked across saying, what the **** are you doing.
I knew we had a car behind us, so i wondered if he was about to pass in a no passing spot or something weird and Doug was trying to scare him.

Doug looks at me, laughing, and says, Shit it torque steers huh.  :D

Me.... in my own arrogant way.... says, its fukking rear wheel drive ya wombat.

NAH Kev, front wheel drive these days. :o

So anyway, it torque steered its way to the sunny coast.

When we reloaded, we pulled the Zephyr back by about 6 inches...... it made no difference.

These Pathfinders, have a decent towing capacity and you throw a badly loaded caravan on the back, there's a crash waiting to happen.

Picture if you will, someone deciding to say, nail a slow truck on a decent bit of road.
Foot down, start to pull out and all of a sudden Mr. Torque steer arrives to visit.

Its got friggin jack knife written all over it.

Doug says they come in AWD as well, which i suspect, wouldn't do it.

When did Pathfinders become FWD?

I think about 2012 with the introduction of the R52 the Pathfinder became a soft roader with no low range and availability of front wheel drive only.

Toyota Kruger, 2wd suffers badly from torque steer under heavy acceleration, certainly the two I drove from 2013 to 2017 did.

Doug's is a free company car, so no issues that way or anything.

I had no idea they'd gone FWD....  ???

I asked him how many speeds the auto was..... no idea was the reply.

I think the Pathfinder might of been one of the first cars  (in recent years) to have a CVT transmission as well, so doesn't have "gears" 8n the traditional sense.

Bet they're fun and costly to rebuild.
