Container ships

Does anything go inside or is it all stacked on top?

Would be a bit wobbly if it was only on top... That might be how the containers ended washing up on the beaches near here a while back.  ;D

Why do electronics have such poor warranty these days?? Surely technology should make things better and last longer *choking to death on logic*

washing machine died, shopping for new one.. all I can find only have 2yr warranty and 500 pages of fineprint.

Yet they can put a 7 year warranty on a motor car. 10 years on the new Triton. Way more moving parts. I think the electronic goods are designed to wear out in 2 years so they can sell more. Same as why they change computor and music/movie formats so often.

I agree.. the $4000 machines still only have 2yr basic warranty and some have 5yr on motor...

Been readin reviews - my head is spinning insanely
for every 10 good there are 10 horrific reviews on all sites.

Most review sites only ever get the negatives.  Sell hundreds and one dud, and it gets a bad review.

Other reviews are I bought this, it was broken and they replaced it.  The new one works great, still only get 1 star...

Would be a bit wobbly if it was only on top... That might be how the containers ended washing up on the beaches near here a while back.  ;D

We crossed the northern Pacific 4 years ago on an "upper berth" with the Fleetwood. (YES, it was insured via marine insurance)
We were being unloaded in Taiwan to catch a different bus, so got to ride further up than most.

We then went on the CAT service, China, Australia, Taiwan, but we scored a spot down a bit, as it went Mel, Syd then Bris.
Logistics on who goes where would be a head fukk I reckon.

As for Shit lasting, car batteries last about 17 minutes past the 2 year warranty...... but....

The battery in the Fleetwood, was new in 2013 in Los Angeles and is still going like a trouper 7 years later.
It is a big fukker, @ 950 CCA, but it did go flat on the trip here from the US when some Muppet left the ignition on acc in the USA.

It was flat as a battery could ever be..... charged it up and never an issue since.

Just goes to show, a battery can be built to last like they did in the old days, they just choose not to.

I've said the same thing for years.

& just think about it.

They say there's one top prize of $50k. So the ad shows somebody scratching a ticket to reveal ... $50k! ::)

So your chances of winning $50k on that issue is now ... ??? >:D

and even after the major prize has been claimed, they continue to sell all the scratchies left in that series knowing full well that there is nothing left to pay out. Guaranteed income for them cause they know the muppets will just keep buying the dud tickets that are left.

Yep >:(

But their argument will be that there are prizes left - $1, $2, free ticket, if you're really lucky, you might even crack it for $10 or $20! ::)

Why is that the women says "I'll drive", and then spends the entire trip asking-
am I in the right lane
which way should I go
do I turn here
what's the speed limit here
is this the exit
where should I park

I actually keep a log of all the different bird species that I see on our property.
I just put a note on the identification page in the book my oldies gave me many years ago and write if it was just their call or an actual sighting with male/female/single/pair.

Been doing it for about 6 or 7 years and it turns out we get a pretty impressive variety of birds at our place throughout the year.

The one thing that stands out the most for me is the amount of birds of prey here.
Everything from wedge tailed eagles, sea eagles kites, falcons and goshawks in the day to powerful owls and tawny frogmouths after dark.

I guess that says something about the amount of food that must be scampering around in the bush. ;)
But we must have some pretty good thermals coming off the paddocks next door, I see the eagles riding them from tree level right up until they are tiny little specs up in the sky. Even though I see it happen all the time, it’s still pretty cool to watch.

Just goes to show, a battery can be built to last like they did in the old days, they just choose not to.

I have replaced one battery in the last 20yrs. On average I get approx 6 to 9 yrs out of one. I usually buy another car before changing a battery.
Hyundai Elantra...replaced just after 9yrs old.
Next Hyundai Elantra....sold after 5yrs, still original.
Present Mitsu Outlander...7yrs old..still original...went away for 2 weeks recently, flat when I came home ..2.7V...still haven't worked out what flattened it..charged up good, drive with fingers crossed atm..
Last 4wd...only 4yrs old still original.
Present 4wd....11yrs old....1st batteries were 5yrs old, still going strong, replaced with 2 new ones...2 new Panasonics for $150...couldn't resist.

I don't do anything different to the next bloke....just drive them and park them..
