Update 2: Call Evakool to find out where my fridge was. They told me that it is sitting at the Toll depot waiting for ME to pick it up from there?!?

Starting to lose faith in this company.....

Not defending Evakool, but I think you're being just a bit harsh on them, that's only 7 working days turn around and the couriers should have either called you or delivered it to you. The Evakool dispatch was probably a bit slack in sending the replacement back to the Toll depot instead of having it delivered to you, just have a look at the address on the consignment note  ;D

Yeah but speaking to Evakool they never asked for the new one to be home delivered just to the depot....

me thinks, pretty ordinary customer service by evakool so far. too bad if you were travelling or its your only source of refrigeration.

Fridge has been on for 3 hours. Set temp to -18 & 4. Still sitting at 22 & 20 ATM. Did they just send the old one back?

Seven hours running and still on 20 & 21. Just noticed that this model is showing as out of stock until April. Maybe they sent me a return? That would explain the cover no show.

James ..time to pony up and buy an engle mate ;D ;D ;D

For under $800 you can get a brand new eclipse and they are at least a decent brand with good history...not a Chinese cheapish re branded.

Yep. You're right I think. Gone up to 24c this morning so it is just doing ambient temp.
I was under the impression that Evakool fridges are made in Oz for Oz conditions but it seems they are imported?

They make some models in Australia, while importing others.

We have a 45lt Travelmate (imported) and its fantastic.

The Evacool branded fibreglass models are manufactured here, along with the rotomolded Fridge Mate. I'm pretty sure that all the other models are imported.

Which model are you having these issues with ?

Did you pay by credit card ? If so
Steps to take in writing
Notify them the 2nd fridge is not working and what has happened previously
Wait about 2 days for a reply
If no reply or reply is unsatisfactory tell them you are going to "dispute the charge" with you c/c provider.
print out copies of your correspondence with Evakool including delivery dockets
take them to your bank and tell them you want to dispute the payment
cheers Keith

kiwi, you have rights and are protected under Australian consumer law. Advise evacrap in writing demanding a full refund within 7 days otherwise you will take action for recovery etc etc. the fridges evacrap import are basically chinese rubbish. the ones they assemble in aust are marginally better. a few years back to save a dollar they even stopped putting a gas bleeder valve in and now simply crimp the pipe over. down the track you need a regas or get a service the fridge tech bloke needs to put one in. who pays for his labour, you guessed it the fridge owner (cost me $80.00). FFS!.
Or Destroy your fridge online say under a falling from great height equally useless jeep and I will donate $20.00 towards you buying an ENGEL replacement.
Im hopping mad and its not even my fridge.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH EVACRAP

Or you could ring them, explain what's going on and ask them to sort it out and tell them if they don't soon you would like a refund.

I don't know why you would be worried they won't give you a refund.

Things come with a warranty for a reason, but I would still be asking where you cover is, and maybe don't send it next time.

Good luck, hope it ends well.

Have dealt with Evakool twice about a faulty wireless temperature guage (can't fault their fridge) and both times my inquiry has been dealt with politely and  efficiently.

Ranting, raving and threatening will not achieve anything.  Remain calm and polite and I am sure you issues will be resolved.

Mate, never said you had.  Just advising to stay cool.

Glad you are getting a refund.  Pity about your wasted time.

Shame really as I thought I was supporting a local company and all.
Any opinions regarding alternatives?

I have an EvaKool white finreglass fridge which I am happy with.  Also have a small Engel which I am also happy with.  Had other Engels in the past, also no issues.
