Barossa Valley & Kangaroo Island

Hello to all and Merry Christmas.

I'm planning a trip from Sydney to many locations and during this trip we want to have a look around the Barossa Valley and a very good look around Kangaroo Island.

We will obviously be taking the camper.

Looking for places to stay and recommended things to do and see at both the mentioned locations.

Looking to travel after July next year. Yes I know it's a while off, but I need to plan early as the other travellers need to apply for annual leave etc, etc.

Get your drinking boots on I think, Barossa has plenty of wineries, couple of golf courses nearby and only a hop step and jump from all things in Metro adelaide, Hills or Riverland.
KI, mostly National Parks stuff such as Kelly hill caves, Flinders chase which includes admirals arch, remarkable rocks. Nearby seal Bay, Cape borda Lighthouse. I'm assuming you can still camp at Flinders chase, if not Vivonne Bay I think has a caravan Park. Plenty of fishing can be done, visit the Parndana Soldier Settlement Museum, watch the locals battle it out in a round of aussie rules, visit the bee farm. Eat a locally grown Marin.
All this and I haven't been since 2000. Some great beaches on the northern side but given your going in winter, it'll be bloody cold.

Both fantastic places to visit, and I'm sure others will eventually give you some more ideas about what you can do that doesn't just include wine wine and more wine!

I recommend grant burge winery. Good wines. The cellar door releases is worth grabbing.
We did a day tour, which did the usual angaston dried fruit, chocolate and barossa wine sites. Depends if you like wine, and how long you have and if you're driving?
There's a small family winery we went to - can't remember the name, but the white port is to die for!
Wouldn't recommend driving as you might end up having a few samples, plus a nice wine with lunch!
Can't comment on kangaroo, but it's somewhere I would like to go also. Heard it's fairly pricey though.

Hi there Shakey and Happy new year to you
I live in the Barossa and as far as things to do it is wine wine and more wine, if you are here during some of the various festivals there will be the opportunity for great food and possibly live music at many wineries,
I will say definitely go to Seppetsfield winery and experience the 100 year old port they sell, also 1 of the most spectacular old wineries in the Barossa.
So just have fun and buy lots of wine while you are here
