I thought the android apps only worked if you have mobile recemption ?
No Spada works without mobile reception provided your tablet has inbuilt GPS. All the maps & POI are loaded onto the tablet. If you make your own route its saved to the tablet for use offline.
There's also a function to take screenshots of specific areas and saving to the device if you are researching stuff before heading off.
When you are driving along and you get photo's along the way you can attach them to that tour and the pictures will automatically get sync'd to the map in the location you took them (it works with my mobile phone and out Sony Camera as both have GPS functions).

Ignore the gap in the drive - you can pause and restart recording of the journey. We did this to just show how it works.
