Suffering it very slightly compared to you lot.
Miss 9 was doing it, but as she knew all the moves and other girls didn't, she lost interest and would complain how they got it wrong. Plus, the teacher had a go at us as she missed something when we went camping.
I wasn't allowed to talk to the teacher for some reason....  >:D

Now miss 5 is doing it, why, well mum does not want her to grow up saying "how come she go to do all this stuff...............". We have the concert this weekend, all day thing, and we have 2 5 min performances.

Luckily, mum had knee surgery the other day, sadly, we can't attend for the full day.  ;D

Pain here also. It's our second year and I hope someone has mentioned the music doesn't need to be so loud. Last year it was ridiculous. Not sure if it is really loud so;

a) parents can't hear teachers screaming at the dancers

b) teachers can't hear parents complaining

c) kids can't hear mum going off a dad because he has asked "is this the last one?" again

d) to drown out dad's snoring

I don't mind watching everyone have a go but I couldn't understand why the big kids (15+) seemed to be out there more than the littlies.

Miss 11, Miss 9 and Mrs are all dancing.
And as the end of year concert is in 3 weeks and Mrs is a sewer, the house if full with costumes in all stages of finishing.
Plus Miss 11 and Miss 9 are in synchronised swimming where Mrs is judging, the weeks and weekends are full.
Competition coming Saturday.

Daughter started dancing at age 4 (jazz. tap and ballet). Carried on right through school, and also took up cheerleading in highschool.
Now does cheer coaching 5 nights a week, but at least these days she drives herself.

Glad that's over with..

On a positive note, when she was learning to drive there was plenty of time to get her hours up
Cheers, John.

I've got two girls 9&11 both do cheerleading, that takes up 4 nights a week plus all day Saturday. It starts at the beginning of the year as try outs then training for new routines as the year goes on with competition in the last half of the year.

Competition are a weekend thing sometimes twice a month where we are there from early morning till late in the afternoon.. Happily this weekend is nationals, the last for this year but unfortunately it's down the Gold Coast with schoolies running a muck and it's for three days. Glad when this year over.

Yep..2 girls that love dance...but only the youngest does the performances! So we sat through a 3hr performance of which my youngest had 4 dances...wasn't too bad though..watching the young girls who seemed to have their own dance moves was hilarious and then  seeing my daughter so happy with herself for having the guts to get up on stage was fantastic.

Dance concert in a couple of weeks will see the end of our year thank Christ. Although I have to photograph the concert so, that means sitting through two shows and the living whilst I edit the images.........grrrr.

I am in my first year of concerts after being never re invited to the nieces concerts years ago. Apparently falling asleep face first on the table is not the done thing.
Ms 8 decided to take up karate and I thought I was safe then I find out that the karate class is in the end of yr concert as well (sensei and his wife own the dance school and the dojo). Now not only do I have to sit through the performance for miss 6 but he is in it as well. The worst part is that this whole term at karate has been learning their performance for the show, not learning defence. Grumble over.

Ok So my Little image 13 (Not so little anymore) is in to dance. Monday night, Wednesday night (then Musical theatre) Thursday night then Friday night. School holidays are dance festivals ect.
This year we went to the USA to so she could dance at Disneyland and next year we are off to NY so she can dance on Broadway.
We have 3 concerts this weekend although we are only going to 2.
Now the 2 overseas trips in 2 years will cost us about $45-50K total.
The thing is I really love watching her do what makes her happy. So while it costs a bit and we have to watch all the others dance I still go to watch and enjoy. It is great to see how she has improved and also her friends have too.
And anyway tiny tots are a laugh.
Painful? yes a bit but wouldn't miss it for the world.
Regards

All this dancing made my 3 girls (wife included) joining the Christmas Pageant Saturday.
It was a long day: arriving in CBD at 4.30pm, starting the pageant at 7.30pm, home at 11.30pm
All have sore feet from dancing but they all had a great time.
When watching it on television yesterday, my wife is now famous. They focussed on her for a long time. :-)

We had the annual concert last Saturday.
The girls did well.
My youngest got the Scholarship Award. Now she can choose whatever she wants to do and it doesn't cost us anything for the whole year.
