KK owners question re kids room
« on: November 02, 2014, 08:17:34 AM »
Hey guys

Just wondering who has a kids room for their KK? Do you find it useful? Which one do you have/recommend.

We now have the option of fitting one, just not sure if would be utilised enough for $$$ as I know a number of swaggers who have purchased the room but never used it.

The one that appeals to me the most is the the square one with the two poles off the end that attaches to the rear of the tent. My wife likes the idea of the drop in type that goes under the awning.

Any one have one for sale?

Regards

Jas

If you have kids that will use it, I'd get the end one, seems to be the easiest one to setup ?

I had an ensuite that went on the side....used it approx 4 times in 5 yrs..probably used it 3 of those times just because we had it and thought we may as well get some use out of it..

That's the one I was thinking of Gronk. We got ensuite also, never had one on the last KK but the missus is keen to put the chem toilet in there so I will give it a try this trip.

we have the one with the 2 poles that attaches to rear of camper....we only ever use it if we plan to be set up for an extended time period, say atleast a week in the one spot. We've had our trailer over 3 years now and used the kids room maybe 4 times at the most. Touring overnight stops, Weekend and long weekend trips our kids sleep on the hard floor...i can't be bothered setting the extra room up just for somewhere to sleep in at night myself.
As to the ensuite gronk mentions, i don't think we've ever used ours (i have set it up to see how it works though). We have a toilet tent we use that is much quicker and easier to set up for that purpose IMHO.

Jas,

We have the end kids room, the squarish one - use it 95% of the time. Quick to put up and fits two full size swags next to each other. The extra room keeps the hard deck free and less cluttered. It is about 5 minutes to put up with a hand from son (6 min solo).

Good value in my opinion....as for the walls which we have never used....that's another story.  ;D

The ensuite - we just use a pop up shower tent to stop the camper getting wet from the shower.

Gidday,

We have the kids room that fits on the rear. We use it when we take grandchildren with us. No need to take off when packing up.; folds into main tent.

It does make the the whole setup rather long from the hitch to back of kids room.

We fit one kids bunk and another stretcher to sleep 3 under 10s.
Cheers,

Tom.

We have the triangle style room that attaches to the rear of the extended tent, we love it as it gives the kids there own space only issue with the triangle is just the condensation on the inside and it is very easy to touch due to the shape.

Only other thing that is worth while considering is the overall length of your setup once you add this to the back, makes it quite long. Had to spend a little more time picking that right spot and getting the camper into position when we were up at fraser at Easter.

Thanks guys great info, exactly what I was after. I have the ensuite up this trip with the toilet in it. I also have a separate pop up tent that I would use for showers rather than getting the tent wet.

Cheers
