IMO Pats comment #4 is pretty much 'on the money'.
I like a lot of what Roothy dos, especially in championing older 4x4s.
However his videos arent just 'entertainment', given how many of the entertained seem to use them, and similar, as 'learning tools'.
Given the 'explosion' in the popularity of off-roading, our hobby simply can't afford to have a corresponding increase in the 'yobbo' factor, who are out there to tear up tracks, etc.  a corresponding increase in the yobbo / 'hoon' element will inevitably result in an accelleration in track closures.

Trouble is, Pat is just as guilty, despite the Mr 4x4 Perfect image he now tries to portray.  I would say I get more annoyed with Mr 4x4's most recent shows to the extent I just don't want to watch his rubbish anymore.  If between his Perfect Patrol and the film crews vehicles they do not have the right recovery gear and have to make up things like calling a tree trunk protector a winch extension strap all because they did not have a recovery hitch to attach the winch to and proceed to do the recovery all wrong........

For someone to call himself Mr 4x4 you would reckon he knows a thing or two and actually do the right thing rather then just make it up at the time.  Pat forget your sponsorship and seriously look at what you are producing.  You polish a turd and all you end up with is a polished turd.
