Smelly (very) shower cubicle
« on: October 11, 2014, 03:13:25 PM »
I couldn't work out where the rotten smell was coming from in my shower cubicle, I had poured disinfectant etc down there without making much difference so investigated further and found a shower sump hidden up above a bash plate. Pulled it out, not an easy task, and wore half the contents plus what was backed up in the waste hose from the kitchen sink, even the dog wouldn't come near me lol.
I found an"Attwood" sump which has a strainer and a bilge pump to transfer gray water to the holding tank and as I discovered needs a regular clean out which I wasn't aware of.
Does any member know of a product I could use to break up the grease etc without destroying the enviroment and to to limit the times I have to pull this B thing out ? Don't want to use Caustic Soda or Draino.
Rob.

Just use Draino and get it done once and clear...

Yep, use the chemicals this time and get it done properly. Using a mixture of vinegar and bi car soda should keep it clear down the track.

And tell the females not to use so much soap and shampoo!
