Dodgy Dave's Solar Panel installation tip
« on: September 26, 2014, 12:50:19 PM »
Alright Swaggers.
Here's how NOT to get ready for the new additional panels and install the 30 amp reg.
Do not do it when the missus is away and your looking after the 3 x kids.
Do not try it when the 9 year old has the you know whats as she has lost Tablet privilages for the day.
Do not try it when the 5 yar old lil' sister has the you know whats as... well, big sis has it, so I may as well.
Do not try it when the other 5 yr old son is playing with your tools.

I plugged the panels in today and nothing.......................... Arggggg

Found where the young lad had cut through the earth wire on the panel feed into the 30 amp reg.

Have I ever told you guys how much I love my kids    ;D

PS.
Love my new smaller 120 watt panel from Jetrew.....
May even sell the bigger 2 man lift type now and get 1 more.

From your title I though you were going to say, make sure you put the shiny bluey bits facing upwards!!!!!

I always figured it was just a 50/50 shot. Give it a go and if it don't work change it!!!!!.

Seriously though, I feel your pain. Whenever I try to do stuff and the tin lids help..... :'( :'( :'(

Hope you've got it sorted now.

Cheers,
Brian

Dave ,

i can sympathize , My sone saw/heard me one day in the shed with a customer as I was making up a dual battery loom and I said

"it,s the little things like heat shrinking that takes the time over a day "

and he watched me with the heat gun shrink the heat shrink.

I enter shed next day and I see him in there and just I am about to go off because he has the heat gun in his hand he says

"dad i am saving you some time "

$100 odd bucks worth of heat shrink all shrunk down on the bench

I did not know weather to laugh / cry or go off.....

I had to laugh in the end but he still got a bum kick for using my tools ....

I love it when you have a three year old helper that doesn't quite understand what the tool is that you are trying to reach for, but just can't quite get it!
You spend more time trying to explain to said child what you want, than it would take to just get up n get it yourself!!

Our young bloke offered to mow the lawns for us, I guess he was thirteen at the time. Needless to say I was stoked, sure son, that would be great. Thanks for helping.
Half hour later, he comes in, Azz, the mower is blowing lots of smoke.
I thought, ahhhh, maybe he has filled the four stroke with two stroke..... What fuel did you put in it? That one........ Hmmmm that's straight fuel. Did you do anything else?
Yeah!!!! I checked the oil, it was a little low so I filled it up.. So I checked the oil level, he sure had filled it, right to the very top!!!!!!!
Well, after draining excess oil and changing the plug a few times, it still goes :)

Saving that one (with a Shit load of others) for the 21st.

Im sure you have guessed why you got 2 messages on your phone.

By the way, the 120 watt kit you sold me produces 0.5 amps more the the old 2 man lift 120 watt folding panels.
I'll get more details tomorrow.
