I have the 07 triton gls and it's great not too sure about the new ones with towing but the 3.2ltr diesel tows like a dream. They have good cab space aswel if your going to load up the back much don't go the hard top but other then that all they really need to be very capable is bars and a 2 inch suspension lift I use my one as a daily and it's great

Whats your budget???? The triton at the moment is good value for money. There Hilux is a lot more money but I don't think you get a whole heap more for the $$$$$

I did think the back window was a good feature,
I will be putting a child's seat in the back as I
Have a 2year old.

I think I'm going to buy new,I don't see the $$$
Difference in the two cars, and the triton has a five
year warranty the hilux has two

Have you considered ex gov triton from auctions. Value of these has plummeted due to dealers cutting new price. You could easily get into a low k one for low $$

I worked in a very large federal government department for about 20 years. Be a bit careful about ex-gov vehicles. They are usually serviced properly, but are equally often driven by many different drivers if they have been a car pool vehicle. In the latter case, they may well have had the guts thrashed out of them.

If the particular vehicle looks a bit rough around the edges and generally not well cared for, it is probably one of these.

If it looks good cosmetically inside and out, it was most likely an "assigned vehicle" - i.e. it was assigned to a particular person/position. These will be very good value, and probably no different in selling price from a 'roughie'.

Good hunting  ;D !
