A steerable dolly set up by the looks of it ... nor sure if it would be easier to tow, but would take the down loads off the tow bar..http://www.caravanersforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=30278

When caravanning  around as a kid I have seen a couple of these setups ..

Going by the speel from the makers back in the day, they claim reversing a van with one of these set ups is a lot  easier ..

so if it is a dolly that stays there while driving, that would mean a special class of license over just a car license..

Wouldn't that be the same as the bloke getting nailed for having his Jetski on a trailer behind his van by 5-0 ???

Its a speed De-limiter ...

he might actually be the only van that can do the posted speed limit, as all the vans I seem to come across can,t. so maybe this thing increases the sped by 10-15K/ph ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Said in jest  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Going on what I can find RTA wise, this van would have to be registered as a 6 wheel caravan and would be legal to tow  ..
People reckon they tow great on road but arnt so good on rough dirt roads ..

If I have time on the way past again, I'll see if I can stop and ask about it, as they have been parked there all week.

If your tug can handle the pull weight but not handle the rated towbar weight then problem solvered just like a fifth wheeler overcomes same. Can't tell but is the cara already a tandem?
