On board water
« on: August 27, 2014, 08:29:50 AM »
Do you fill your tank before you head off, or do you go as far as you can empty, hoping to find somewhere to fill up (do servo's mind you filling up???)

I fill before I leave, at least then I know the water quality is OK. It also lowers the towball weight a bit.

We fill the water tank as soon as we get back from a trip so it is one less thing to do before the next trip.

we fill the Ute under Tray tank and CT tanks both before we leave.
And noel, thanks for that thought of lowering the towball weight too, never looked at the CT water tank in that way,

for where you are going mate i would fill before you go then you have one tank for on the road. There is water at wilpena but when i was ther eit was just a few common taps so you had to do the old bucket trick to fill your camper

I have filled up at servos i usually go to the ones woth seperate truck areas and use the water tap around the back as it is quieter

I don't see the point in filling up close to the destination. You probably save a tiny amount on fuel, but the cost of water is negligible. 1000 litres of water is about $2.

I'd rather know that I have decent, clean water from home
