New brand of camper
« on: August 24, 2014, 01:04:26 PM »

Came across another new player in the camper industry. Good to see John back in the industry. They look quite good.

They look like some good setups and a few different options for layout.

Not sure.

just that they look like every other import , not that there is a real issue with that if they have been built to a spec provided
just seems like you get a fair bit for your dollars , but similiar to what everyone else is charging , ie ; the foward fold camper

Pleeeeeeease don't start this again.

I am 99% certain they are imported, but I would certainly say don't rule them out because of that.
If Mr john is prepared to put his name to them then they should be pretty well sorted and at least warranty and customer service should be top notch. I work with imported campers also and provided you know what you are doing then a viable product is definitely possible.
With john being a manufacturer not just an importer he will know what works and what doesn't.
It might take them a little while to push through the market, but good luck to them and I really hope they succeed!
 ;D

Just found out they import the bodies and assemble them in Australia. They seem to do a good range.

Good luck to them.

How do these forward fold jobbies go with storage?
If the trailer floor becomes the living area, where would one carry one's gear?

Similar to the Modcon and Ecomate I would say. When travelling the floor of the camper is great for bulky items such as chairs, bags, awnings etc.

Although not sure on this one as some have an inbuilt table that takes up a fair amount of room?

As always, there are compromises.

They look like you'd need to unhook for access to the rear of the car when set up..
That'd become tedious if on the road.....

Yep, life is full of compromises. I can't say for this brand but most forward folds don't require unhitching to open. In Modcon/Ecomate that was part of the design.

At those prices I would say a "high probability"  of being imported.

The forward fold are similar to the rear fold, as in the floor doesn't carry anything when folded up, it's just the floor ( or bed ) when unfolded.

These new style campers are HEAVY.....I had a KK that was 1100 kg, but these new things put it to shame..

looks as though even our country's most respected camper trailer builders are getting into imports. (Kerry Modcon now John)

Obviously getting to hard to compete against them so as the old saying goes "cant beat em join em"

will be a good thing in some cases as it would mean that they will become far better trailers as these guys wont put there respected names on rubbish..
