had some wood from - um - one of the major hardware outlets - it was rich red in colour and it STANK!!! wit have been red gum? hope not if people here are burning it

stepson up in valery (coffs) is grumbling about not being able to sell his because its too warm up there

I need to go get some wood, couldnt do it in summer with my busted leg and now the missus was crook so missed going to the BIL's place to load up.

we could put a crew together to help clean out your BIL's place of fallen timber if needed and drop some back at your place?
Many hands make light work etc, and thinking Fuji needs more practice starting his chainsaw.......lol......
Might just cost you a takeaway trailer of wood and a myswag BBQ sausage sizzle.

For anyone interested, the DEPI collection areas close up on the 30th June, then reopen in Sept.

Unless you are cutting in Barmah. Then it closes on the 30th and reopens NEVER....

Oooohhhhh the pain, seeing old sleepers on the side of the railway line for about 100kms. Ripe for the picking and with easy access. Problem is You have to come to Winton Queensland.

No thanks , not after reading that they could be full of asbestos dust from the trains brakes. Cutting them could be bad for your health even though I have burnt quite a few smashed ones when they replaced the Wodonga line.

went for a drive up around Barmah national park and there must have been 20+ cars/ute's with trainers coming out of the designated area full to the brim with wood.

While we were driving around the NSW side of the Murray some people had left behind pieces here and there so us being greenies tossed them in the back of the ute

Last ever weekend Barmah will be open so I suppose people are trying to make the most of it. Plus was a good day to be out cutting.

A couple of hours work yesterday, all logs were already fallen, just needed to be trimmed up. New sharpener worked a treat to keep cutting quickly

Went out yesterday to our block for some wood cutting and motorbike riding. Discovered a large tree had fallen across a track so set to work cutting it up. Going fine until the log rolled and caught my chain brake smashing it off and throwing the chain . Lost interest then , so winched the remaining section sideways onto the track and then the front tyre on the bike kept going flat

Spewing because I was supposed to be cutting wood for some old people that I supply so have to ring them today and put it off for a week.

I spent yesterday cutting wood, didnt have to go far as the owner of the vacant block next to my parents lets us cut dead fallen wood from his 5 acre block.
Still a 100ft pine tree to be cut up plus a few 30ft plus gums.

l know a place were Yellow Box Gum is on the ground after being dead standing for years to dry . Just waiting for its location to be reviled to those that will pay the price . To loosen the tong with

Just had the 9 & 1/4 power saw out in the back yard for a bit, chopping up old step treads and floor joists etc to a length that will fit in our fire place.
Sadly we chucked a heap of good wood out at work this week, pulled down and old hardwood verandah and it all went in the skip bin

Na, our house is old and so is the fire box. It's fairly small. Like your cover pic, been to the Kevington pub a few times, nice neck of the woods up there.
