Im hoping to pick up work as I travel and being a plumber I hope it isn't to hard. if anyone has any advice on what to take, where to stay, how to find work, what to see your advice would be awesome. Im travelling alone and starting to really stress out about leaving everything I know !!! I have done a lot of camping but mainly in swags and tents. looking forward to your comments cheers mole man

Mole Man
The longest journey starts with the 1st step , you have done that .
As to traveling & working its easy , we already know where you will be living , The Dove  . As to working along the way that's up to you to find its not that hard as long as you are flexible in what you do ,,,, like anything  as long as it pays .
l travelled for 3 1/2 years working & traveling . talking to people as l went , learned heaps , saw heaps  & had fun .
So Treg up & make dust you wont look back .

& keep us posted as you go

Based on what others have told me rather than my own experience......

Take whatever essential plumbing tools you can so that when you turn up to ask for work you can say "I've got my own gear".

If you're looking for work that requires a licence or other registration then check with the relevant state organisations as to how to get these before you leave (not sure how much of this applies to plumbing these days).

Have references ready to go.  Treat each opportunity as a proper job interview. "This is what I've done, this is what the outcome was, this is how I will apply these skills to your company". May sound a bit soft but it doesn't cost you anything to put forward a more professional approach than the next guy who rocks up.

Have a great trip.

The wallaby = the road
take any job = a quick source of $ to pay for food , drink, accommodation rather than dip your savings

Welcome Mole Man,

Don't worry, all new people have trouble understanding Speewa's dialect of the English language.

Sounds like you are in for some interesting times, enjoy and good luck.
