Oztent RV2 vs RV3
« on: July 04, 2014, 12:45:25 AM »
Looking at getting an Oztent for when we don't take the CT.  Tosssing up between RV2 and RV3.

Would be just be for 2-3 of us (father-son weekends, my wife like the CT too much).

Wanting to keep the $$$ down and the RV2 is $100 cheaper than the RV3.

At 2mx2m though I'm guessing the RV2 really is too cosy for up to 3 people?

Bigger is better. We use an RV5 with 2 people and are comfortable inside. No way you would be able to sleep 5 in there very comfortably!

I don't want to sound rude but saving $100 on a $1000 tent sounds like false economy to me. When the weather turns bad or just in general, I think you'd be glad for the extra room. Plus, the extra room might make it easier if a mate wants to come etc.

Have you had a look at the newer style external frame tents?  Oztent make the Jet there are also Black wolf, Colman and others at different pricepoints.  If I was buying a tent I'd give these a long hard look.  The RVs are hard to pack as they are so long.  Ok on the roof but impossible inside a vehicle.

We have an RV3.  With the beds at each side there is a good amount of room in the middle for bags and to get changed etc.
