Prestige Communications
« on: June 19, 2014, 01:37:07 PM »
Ordered a new Icom IC-440N through them, best prices i could find, on sunday night. Got a confirmation that payment was received on monday. Yesterday morning i got an email from them asking for a street address as they dont post to PO box. So i gave them my wifes work address and told her to keep an eye out for it, this was after lunch yesterday. She looked up and said it may take a week for WA to here, whatever no rush.

I had to go to her work this morning and one of the factory guys was having a yarn with me, he walks back into the factory and comes back out and says, Hey this is for you. Well low and behold it was the radio. So from WA to the gold coast, sometime after lunch yesterday and i had it in my hand at 10am this morning. How good is that  :cup:

Now to install it in the morning before we leave for levuka in the arvo.

:cup: :cup: For Prestige Communications for price and speed of delivery.

I've had the same service to country Qld

It's great considering the local guys sometimes can't even give a time for when they can get it and then charge top dollar for the privilege.

I sorta feel for the small country stores.. they have to pay up the ringhole for freight and have to pass it on to live, but then big city places can get cheap freight/shipping anywhere.

They don't need to charter a jet - the scheduled flights to the east coast leave Perth around midnight.

There used to be an electronic components company in Perth which advertised that if you placed an order before 5pm EST it would arrive in your office before 10am the next day.  Don't know if they are still trading.
Camping is great as long as the mattress is inner spring!

mate i ordered a clothesline from my local bunnings, they told me it had to come from brisbane (80km away) and would take 5 days to get. 6 weeks later and me jumping up and down a manager drove up and collected it for me. Maybe they need to look at prestige and see how they do things lol

I would prefer to buy local but when you can get it cheaper and quicker from the other side of the country then it is difficult.
If it is more expensive but on the shelf then I'll buy it within reason.

I went into a camping store in Roma once when I was still living in Brisbane.  There was a camping light I had been thinking of buying and they stocked it. The box was covered in dust and the price was higher than RRP. So on the shelf it stayed.
Whether that is due to country pricing or resource town pricing is another thing.

AA Radio in Vermont Melb. Ask for Jo

I was buying from Prestige but Jo came to the party and got all my gear from him. Helped me out with the connectors as well.

10/10 for price and service.

I think most of us are in that boat.

One day there wont be a local store to run into on a Friday night when your going away that night and something breaks ruining your holiday if we don't support them.

I am astounded!!  I ordered my UHF from them yesterday afternoon and it has just been delivered to me!!  I am in Mackay which is 1000kms north of Brisbane.  It can take 5 days to post a letter to Townsville which is 400ks up the road for goodness sake.

I ordered my antennaes from Telco Antennaes in Brisbane yesterday as well.  They are here this morning as well.

Excellent service from both these companies.

Most likely you are right. However my last car was a Land Rover. Even living in Brisbane I couldn't do what you describe. So I try to be prepared

Although the only things open on Friday night in Dalby are fast food, fuel and pubs. None of which I would buy online

Excellent prices, order/payment/shipping status and speedy delivery.  After sales service was also excellent.   Icom 440N / Antenna package.

No affiliation here either.  I just bought a TX6150 from Prestige.  Not the cheapest web price I could find (+$12.00) , but went with them based on reviews from sites such as this one.  Delivered to Adelaide next day.  Excellence service, good prices - another satisfied customer.
