A little history first. We took delivery of our ML Triton new in 2009. The dealer organised a two inch lift suspension kit from new, he sold me on the brand as he said he fitted it to all the Tritons he supplied to the mines. The vehicle was purchased in the Hunter Valley of NSW. I won't mention the brand but it was the worst 12 months of vehicle ownership I'd ever had. The vehicle was back to the dealer 5 times for various suspension issues , some relating to fitting , others related to the product itself. After speaking to Fair Trading I was given my money back and had the Triton returned to factory spec, this process alone was hard work and the dealership is a place I'll never mention again
Some amount of research later it appears that Ultimate Suspension in Ingleburn really knows their stuff and had fitted several kits to Tritons. They weighed and valved a kit for the truck fitting a heavier 180kg leaf set to the rear and a medium rated strut in the front. That was three and a half years ago. Some months ago I had an electric winch fitted with Dyneema rope. The passenger side had dropped 18 millimetres more than the drivers side, possibly due to the second battery sitting above the strut.
A call to Brendan at Ultimate had the truck booked in for a set of heavy duty replacement spring. Too easy you say. Here is the kicker, they booked the truck in at a weeks notice, just before the June long weekend, happily helped unhook and stored out camper trailer while they did the work ( we were on our way camping for the weekend) Brendan dropped the whole family off at the local train station and picked us up on our return . he then APOLOGISED for the three and a half year old springs not supporting the front bar. He didn't charge the three hours labour for the job and gave me the springs at a substantially reduce price.
The trucks nose is now high and proud and she is driving like a dream. We hear a lot about rubbish customer service these days and very little of the good stuff. To Brendan and the team at the Ultimate Suspension, well done . Give these guys a call if your in the market they certainly stand by their products .
