Fancy this, last Saturday while travelling with the Cairns 4wd club out driving in the bush up the back of the Western Tablelands on Boonmoo Station, we spotted Matto & his Trackabout and his inlaws camp parked on a creek bank. I mentioned to Tony that I thought it was matto, but we were in convoy and had sailed past the turnoff and would have caused mayhem if we turned back, so kept going. Its a small world
That was us allright! When we arrived, we stopped at the homestead and had a chat to Laurelle - she mentioned there were about 15 cars & campers camped down at the close dam. I didn't even know they had the smaller dam, so will have to pick your brain as to what it's like. I love cmaping on the creek, but a bit more water would be fun to paddle a kayak around in.
We took a run up to Stannery Hills dam on the Sunday - last time we were there it was far too busy to have a look around. This weekend, we were the only ones there. Would be a lovely place to camp too, so long as it's not too busy.
Sorry we didn't get to catch up for a chat - next time!
