Space saving ideas for camper trailers

Weight is a tricky one....
We've been on the road since June. Poor fuel economy has been on my mind so recently i had a trip over the public weigh bridge.....oh my! The 'cruiser needs to shed a few kgs. I'm not packed to the roof by any means, I have removed all rear seats and built storage for the middle section. The main culprit is all the things I have for remote repairs such as tools, spares and some fluids. Things I want to have in case of emergency but hopefully never need. And to be honest I really don't have that much....but it is heavy.
Another one is clothes for all seasons. We have become pretty good op shoppers. Just last week themissus picked up a jumper from Yeppoon Vinnie's for $4 and now out in Emerald she's loving it. Gone from tops of 32° to barely cracking 22°, brrrrr.

Yeah Roo I have the same issue with extra weight of tools and repairs that hopefully I won't need but never know. There is definitely a few kegs in my draws of that stuff. Better to be prepared though I reckon.
The trick with me will be the bags of clothes for the five of us and the dry food storage. It's hard to figure out what to take and what to leave. I'm gonna do what a few have said about marking what I take on the trips building up to the big one in Jan.
If it was only used once or twice like GraemeL said, it'll stay home.
I'm gonna set up my solar panels as it's one of the biggest ticket items that has to come to the roof rack permanently, I have storage tubes up there for my rods and I may stick a couple Jerrys up there too.

How is everyone running their fridges in the back? Do ya have a cage for it to keep it ventilated? I'll need a drop down slide as the misses is vertically challenged and I've seen MSA have a good combo (drop down and cage) but it'll be an extra grand or so that I didn't budget for.

Cut down on the clothes you take especially for the children and the lady of the house(me) you don't see the same people day after day so you don't need to take too many changes of clothes. When your kids clothes get to yucky just visit an op shop and get them some new ones, country op shops can have some great specials on. If you find you need something you didn't bring just go to a op shop, we check them out when we get to a town, it is amazing what you can pick up. At Clearmont last year I picked up 10 of those wine glasses that can unscrew that are about $10 each for 10 cents each, they were all brand new, still had the labels on so were added to our families Christmas presents, they are all campers.

Yeah we'll do just that I reckon. The kids aren't that little though so hopefully they won't get too grubby. But ya right, we aren't gonna see the same folks so it won't matter. Op shops are the way to go to catch a bargain then throw if too grubby so on sell if too small.
