G'day guys - just posted this in response to another thread calling out all lurkers!!!

Name is Kyle, living on the beautiful South Coast NSW in Culburra Beach.

Have been "lurking" for a bit doing some research, checking the classifieds etc. pleased to say 2 days ago we put a deposit on a 2009 ModCon Solution Rear Fold with the extended tent.

Could not be happier as we've been searching for one for ages.

I work away at sea 5 weeks on 5 weeks off and not due home for another week. Then we jet off to Bali for 10 days and come home and pick up the the camper which is in Brissy but we pick it up from Coffs / Nambucca Heads area as the current owners have been kind enough to offer to meet us halfway and show us how it sets up etc.

Hopefully this is just the beginning.

Got plenty of questions in regards to power solutions at the moment. Mainly chasing advice on the best way to set up vehicle dual battery systems running to rear Anderson to charge camper dual batteries (already fitted).

Cheers

Kyle

Welcome to myswag Kyle and co. Great to have you on board and congrats on the new CT.

In terms of dual battery and anderson plug, what vehicle will you be towing with?

I run a dual battery anderson plug outlet using a pirahna solenoid and for me was easy and trouble free, but that is just one of a few options.

G'day scraps,

Tug is a 2008 GXL D4D Prado. I was already intending to set a dual battery system up in the tug. Now I was just wondering the best way to incorporate it into the camper. Briefly reading a few posts it would seem most choose to have the Anderson running off the Aux battery side of a VSR or similar isolation system. This would then mean that the aux battery and both camper batteries would all be seen as one "bank". Is that correct?

Then in regards to charging there is no priority other than the start (cranking) battery. I only see this as a problem if both the camper batteries and the aux battery are low and it's only a short drive to next camp. It would be nice to be able to choose which of the 2 you want to prioritise the charge too.

Cheers.

Congratulations mate, you got yourself a great CT..

Based on Recent events Just remember on your flight to Bali it is frowned apon to knock on the cockpit door thinking it is the toilet after a few frothies...
