G'Day from CUEE
« on: April 04, 2014, 08:53:32 AM »
I know this may sound familiar but we've finally made a decision and settled on a Blue Tongue Off Road Treka. Picked it up last week but cant get away till Easter .We've set it up in the back yard and mother nature has helped up condition the canvas very well . We've hired a few campers so we sort of knew what we wanted ( sorry could afford ) and I was sick of looking and going to shows . At least I can throw out all those pamphlets , I think it will save me money now .  We've got 2 boys 11 & 8 so they love getting out in the bush . At least now I have a few weeks to tinker with it before we go . I do have a question , it has a ALKO Off Road Coupling 2 Tonne on it and was wondering if anyone knows of a locking device for it . I have to have one on my boat with my Club Marine policy or the premium goes from $300 to $1000 but NRMA haven't listed one in their policy but I would still like something .Cheers

I've got an ALKO off road coupling, not sure how you could lock it. You might be bale to put a padlock through the safety chain to your tow bar, just for security not when you are towing. I'm not sure if that is clear, instead of using a d-shackle or similar to attach your safety chain to the tow bar, swap it for a padlock when you are parked.
