Car covers or more specifically 4WD covers
« on: March 28, 2014, 06:32:53 PM »
Guys

Has anyone managed to find a good quality car cover to suit their kitted out 4WD. Ideally I would like a cover that will go over my 80 series roof rack, bull bar and all.

I haven't been able to find a quality cover that doesn't cost a squillion dollars.

Would a cover suited to a small caravan do the job? Anyone gone down this road?

The 80 spends a bit of time out in the weather so I would like to put a cover over it when possible. Water resistant would also be preferred.

Show us what you have.

Regards

Jas

Would be interested to hear as well. My 80 spend its life sitting in the weather as it won't clear the garage

A neighbour I had once set up a pull out vinyl framed cover off his garage similar to  this one [ bottom one ]......http://www.canvasandnylon.co.uk/portablegarages.php .. just had a slide track bolted to the drive way each side  ... only covered  one of the garage doors ..

I can definitively tell you that Autobarn/Autopro won't have anything.
(Unless your car inc bullbar/rear wheel is under 5.1m)
They just don't make them that big. I would personally suggest seeing a good trimmer and getting a quote? You may be surprised?

Maybe I just throw that monster Southern cross awning over the top of her EVO? Lol

I think some of the small caravan covers might be the go.

So apart from a couple of humorous replies is there no one that actually has a cover over their kitted out 4wd? Does someone have a recommendation for a quality caravan cover of a size that would work perhaps?

These guys make quite a few different 4x4 covers and will custom make as well. Prices seem reasonable and up to 5 year warranty.
