Gday from Dandenong Ranges
« on: March 08, 2014, 07:01:17 PM »
G'day from the Dandenong Ranges

If you are unsure where this is I am in the hills of Melbourne deep intrenched in a southern temperate rainforest amongst the  mountain ash.
I have been around for some time researching my butt off and would like to thank you all for the threads and knowledgeable responses. It has provided me with valuable information.

Am very new to the camping scene, some would call me greener than Ireland. It is time for me to stop working so much and smell the roses just a little before my family grow too old and will not want to spend time together.
So we have just taken possession of a used complete campsite 16 footer and look forward to many a time away. More likely long weekends as often as we can around work commitments and other activities.
We are really looking forwards to it and I am sure I have some questions I hope you all can help me with.
We setup the CT today with awning, two hours, and I thought they were easy, from what most people have commented on, I had to get a step ladder out in the end which disappoints me. A trip to the auto electrician next week will fix her up for full non power bush camping which really attracts me. Can't wait to get out there and explore this wonderful country of ours.
Look forward to chatting
Cheers Bigi

Can you get some close up shots of the webbing straps over the cover?

You can't, I won't let you
I thought I said I had plenty of questions needing answers not the other way around.  ;D
It is just a simple moderate strap fixed to one side running 80% the way over with similar shorter straps on the other side with a poke through simple plastic snap buckle
One is bolted to the body with 2 bolts the others are stapled to the underside of ply bed base

Yes ok, I saw your CT build,
I will take some tomorrow and post
My CT main body is about 2800 long and I have found air gets in or for some reason it balloons a little at the rear when traveling. I am not sure why but would suggest at that length a fourth one be placed. but hey I'm a little anal

Welcome Bigi,

Good looking set up have got. Setting will get easier but it does not matter how long you take to set up as you will be out camping beer in hand and enjoying yourself.
Have fun.
