Hi,
a bit of map reading will reveal possibilities some times.
For an overnight stealth camp nearby, I put 'lookout' into the Garmin Points of Interest search, or 'park' or even 'picnic' will sometimes bring up a usable spot for a night's kip. They are usually not the place to set up a camp and definitely not on a warm weekend with a full moon. Best on a cold rainy night.
Apart from suburbia, agricultural land is the hardest to find spots, especially near major roads. Often a parallel minor road will reveal a hidey hole in a tree lined verge.
If you can camp on hard stand; church yards, cemeteries, school yards, golf club carparks, local footy grounds, boat ramps are all options worth considering.
Often it is just a matter of keeping an eye out around late afternoon, and pouncing on a good opportunity when it presents its self.
cheers
