We were out there in October last year and they were considering closing as they were out of water.... :'(

Absolutely awesome place and awesome people. Hope you get hold of them and get to visit.

can't help with that specific location, but was reading a thread on another forum that mentioned a station to camp at around Barcaldine if it's any help to you. unfortunately the poster hasn't given contact details yet, but the thread may be worth watching for any future info http://www.exploroz.com/Forum/Topic/106311/New_Camping_Ground.aspx?ky=&sn=&p=%2fForum%2fDefault.aspx%3fpn%3d2

We were there a couple of years back and it was great. Try the Winton Information Centre. They should know what's going on.

The  station is closed as of Sept last year due to the drought. May change with the latest rain falls. We will try to get there ourselves in June this year.

Stayed there last year (May) . Close to the dinasaure stampeed. Really enjoyed the visit. Hope they get through the drought as we had plans to go back next time we headed north. Brad

Hi mate,
On the ultimate owners forum there is a trip planned there, as far as I know at this stage it is still a goer, and the organiser is in contact constantly to make sure just in case plans need to change
