Queanbeyan Four Wheel Drive Expo was RUBBISH.
« on: February 01, 2014, 07:59:22 PM »
What a waste of a day, sun was shining, rubbish. Smashed some sausage sambos and drinks with the wife and kids, rubbish. Got driven around the vehicle test track in a number of vehicles of our choice, rubbish. Played with and in a lot of high end campers and camping gear, rubbish. SWMBO doesn't mind and encourages me when I order an electric winch and rear air locker for the mighty Triton, total rubbish!!

What a  :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: day!

Sun was shining is an understatement, the temp gauge in the car said 43degrees at 4:00pm when we left.  Bloody hot!

Agree 100 percent, was considering a new GME UHF, the gme blokes show special was fifty bucks more that Prestige Communication had them on line for, certainly pays to research before you go. That being said I saved about 400 bucks on my purchases so happy with that.

Got there by 9am home by 1.30pm, too bloody hot. So Disco teddy you definitely hit the nail on the head with that one. Best part was going for a drive in the test cars on the track just for the air con and the super-sized fans in the ARB tent. Had to fight others for a spot, lol. Got a few things ticked off the list, so all good.

Worked on a stand all yesterday morning.  It was so hot that I didn't even bother going around the stalls after that.  Save money that way.

Sounds like some people need to open a can of toughen up , so it's hot, it's summer.
Discoteddy, if what you say is true everyone should have a wife as understanding as yours.

With a rear locker you may be able to keep up with the Challenger.

The Conquerer display was great.

Promo girls were sweet.

Waeco display was crap.

ARB and TJM were doing a brisk trade.

Think how us poor two headed tasmanians felt in the heat.

I spent a good part of Saturday and Sunday driving visitors around the test track and didn't find it too hot at all  :)   It was a good chance to see which vehicles had the best air con.

Pretty much describes my thoughts on the mentioned stands, the ARB one with the turbo fans was where I did the most damage >:D

The Jeep stand of course.  If you dropped in and talked to the orange people, that was us helping out a club sponsor (and giving out club brochures too).

It was great fun taking "newbies" around, lots of white knuckles and breath intakes, especially when the back slid a bit on the side slopes!  The track was "tuned" to suit the standard height vehicles, but still gave a good indication of what a "factory" 4WD could do.

Also great fun going for a run in the comp vehicles, some really good angles.

Mate my eight year old son was obsessed with the comp trucks and the concrete slabs they we cross axling over, would have been a hoot to have a run in one!
