press studs
« on: January 12, 2014, 07:41:43 PM »
Hopefully one of you resourceful guys can point me in the correct direction. I need a press stud gun or something similar to make side walls and floor using shade cloth for the ct annex, rather than using the p.i.t.a annex that came with it but still have a shady area to sit in

Already have the 70% black shade cloth but need to make mounting points (holes but not nescasarily press studs) to beable to attach them to the expanding roof poles and for the  peg holes for the ground cover and just need a clue on the best way of going about it

if these solve your problem, suggest get better quality ones from a good camping store. I grabbed a kit from a $2shop (I think I paid $3:-)), and they're a bit thin.
A few years ago, you used to be able to buy a HD plastic version specifically for shadecloth. I think Sarlon was the brand.

I picked one of those up from bunnings with eyelets for about $10 from memory. I used it to do the stone guard on the ct. Note for use though, place some timber under it otherwise you will get nice mini crop circles in your garage floor.

Thanks guys, purchased two off fleabay for $16 each also decided to turn front annex area into more of a sunroom style setup so gunna have to work out a way to either attaching  some type of velcro or zip setup to gain access, bloody mods never seem to end but all will make camping in this weather much more enjoyable  ( well that's the plan)
