Woolworths customer service AAA+
« on: January 06, 2014, 07:21:33 PM »
My wife brought home 2 Trays of lamb loin chops ($20 worth) on Friday afternoon. The expiration date was the 7th Jan.

I went to cook them on Sat night 4th Jan. I thought they looked a bit green, opened the glad wrap cover and the smell nearly made me throw up. Obviously they were rotten. I put them in the freezer as I knew I wasn't going to get back to Woolies until today.

I took them into the shop and spoke to one of the Managers. Before I could explain she asked me "is that lamb?" I said yes. She apologised for the inconvenience and said there was a problem with one of the deliveries.

She took me over to the meat section and told me to pick out some meat roughly the same amount of $$ but she said she would be happy if slightly over.

I picked out two trays of lamb chops that was valued at $24. She took me back to her counter, apologised again for the inconvenience and then asked me if I wanted my refund in cash or on my card.  I said" but rent you replacing the meat for free?" She said yes, the meat I get for free and they would also refund me the money as well.

I was initially pretty cranky but to get genuine apologies, free replacement value meat product and a cash refund is pretty good.
Thought I would share my positive outcome with Myswag.
Well done Woolies.

Nice work. Good to hear a good news story, often we are quick to slam bad service but good service often goes unrecognised.

When I worked in retail during training they told us we would never be remembered for good service, only bad. Ever since that I try and acknowledge good service when I can. :cup:

Had a good friend buy pork from the local woolies here for xmas and it was in a similar state.  Took it back, complained, and got an apology and commented that it wasn't the only one.

Woolworths would be the last place on this planet I would buy meat from. Especially if you want to eat it and enjoy it. Oh and while I think of it, a big thanks to Woolies  and Coles for the great fuel prices I now am paying. Done us all a great big favour..............not.  >:( :-[

We have been buying our meat from Woolies for over a year now. This is the first time we have had a single problem with the quality of meat ever. I really like to eat it and enjoy it.

We used to support our local butcher. His product was inconsistent. Great one week but crap the following week. His top dollar prices always remained the same every week.  I don't mind paying top $$$ for my meat but I want top quality in return.  Thanks for the advice but I will continue to buy my meat from Woolies.

As for the conspiracy theory with Coles and Woolies being the blame for fuel prices... Are you Serious?

I am guessing it has nothing to do with the price of fuel out of Singapore or the huge demand for diesel in the northern hemisphere for their heaters with the cold snap or the transport costs in Australia (one of the Worlds most expensive)
Everyone knows the fuel prices are up because the aliens are stealing it.

No offence Muzza, if your happy with their quality then great. I have found it to be extremely poor from my experience.
I do agree with your comments on reasons fuel is totally out of control but I do firmly believe the 15-20 cent discount vouchers have not helped at all with current prices and the war on independents. I also don't believe they are good for our farmers on the land or our milk producers. Just my opinion.
Cheers.

Must be lamb supplier. I bought a lamb leg from IGA couple of months ago and was off. Took it back & was told they'd had a few that we' re off. Won't buy meat from from them anymore.

Poor lambs gave up their life and noone benefited.
