If it's over 750kg, has brakes and needs a brake controller you could make up some fluff about you needing to tow it first to bed the brakes in, see how it tows etc.

If they insist then get your MIL listed on the insurance, if your CT policy needs that.

I use the "it's only insured for me to tow" to stop lending to family etc.

Wow, is it that big a deal? She's just towing it to you place, not actually using to go camping, right?

If she has a history of stuffing things up or breaking things then maybe tell her where to go, but if not, its just towing a trailer! Its not like a mate is borrowing ya wife for the night, it won't be any different if it isn't you doing the towing, the trailer won't self destruct because its not being towed by you!!!!!!

Can she tow the boat instead?

lol I thought I was the only one using the insurance line.
Dont you need to check over the camper before you drive it out though?

simple just set up the trailer lights etc to suit your tow tug, just a matter of swapping a couple of wires around then when she goes to tow it say bugger you may have to get an auto sparky to fix up your trailer socket on the car as it works fine on the tow tug :)

Obviously you are married and that requires some understanding and respect for the abilities of females. Why is this any different? Insure it and if it gets stuffed, so what.
