Boxing Day Sale Carnage 2013
« on: December 26, 2013, 11:45:41 AM »
Some bright spark in our house thought it might be fun to come into Melbourne CBD for the day/night today (Boxing Day) to do a little shopping, partake of a fine culinary feast at some stage, and hopefully to see 'The destruction of Smaug!.

Well I haven't done it before (Boxing Day Sale) and thought it might be interesting to see 'what goes on'!
(Well there is a psychotic side of me, says him. Who said that! Can I talk now?)

Anyhoo currently in Myer and several of the escalators have stopped working(can't remember the last time I actually walked up an escalator), and I've counted more 'men in black suits' working crowd control than staff (who are pretty muchly dressed like everyone else).

Got a couple of bargains which I'll post in the appropriate thread, and I'll add a pic or two shortly.

So right now I'm performing that most important of husbandly duties, minding SWMBO's handbag outside one of the ladies fitting rooms while she tries on each of the 423 garments of interest.

Sounds like hard work, I hope you're sitting down ;D

Speaking of sitting down, my Boxing Day carnage consisted of going to Bunnings and buying a new camp chair.

I owe, I owe, it’s off to work I go…

Work - Outback  SOLD
Play - Prado

D4D, that's a great looking chair. If you ever need it transported interstate anytime? I'm your man!

Yes sitting down now. The staff asked me to move away from the front of the ladies fitting room for some reason.......

Checked the prices out at 3 of the big chain stores who supply camping /fishing  and 4 wd products a few days prior to the so called Boxing day sale event i was mainly after 4 items in question and to my surprise the four items had jumped in price ranging from $15 to $45 dearer at each of the 3 stores ,when asked by the sales person "can i help you" i said yes where are the so called sales ,mentioning the four items i wanted had increased in price for this day i was told sorry i should have bought them the other day ,but if i wanted to come back in on the weekend the sale will be over and the items will be back at the lower prices. Please explain

i have been a good wife ... and not gone anywhere near the shops (this year) it is way too much madness and noise for me

Looking at those shirts must be what a trip on LSD appears like.  :o
