I was at LCMP some years ago having afternoon tea about 50m off the side of the main road around the place and saw a Patrol go past towing a camper, tailgate open and dumping the contents of their camper onto the track as they went over every bump ...

A bloke i work with has an old 22ft van that he tows with his old 60series cruiser. He struggles to hit 90 on the highway so after planning his big 550 kilometre family holiday he decided he'd leave around midnight so he didn't hold up to much traffic. Might i add he's got 2 smiley face spare tyre covers made up for the back of the van just to give people something to laugh at while they're stuck behind him  :D
Anyway, off he goes in the middle of the night with his wife and kids to leave a few hours later and meet him at the park. Trip went well he says till he pulls up to check in and notices he's missing the door off his van. Oh well, that'll give me something to do later he says, gives the wife a quick ring to touch base and tells her about the door.
Wife pulls up a few hours later and says you won't believe what we found on the way. Yep, they found the door on the edge of the road about 3hrs from camp with not a mark on it.
He screwed it back on and for a bit more insurance on his return trip he put a strip of gaffa tape around the openings.

Other one was having a beer and happy the setup was so quick then we both looked up and saw the bed flies still rolled up above us and unable to be reached without winding the whole thing down

every single time i set up i forget about the bed flies   --   given up on them now
