hard floor campers
« on: November 23, 2013, 05:00:55 PM »
Hi I have seen pics of hard floor campers set up with most  of them haveing the fridges in a box on the A frame, but when they have the canvas all set up the fridge box is out side the canvassed area,so you have to walk out side to go to the fridge if you need anything from it,are there any that have the canvas rooms /kitchen which would enclose the kitchen and fridge in the one room or do the hard floor campers bring the fridge out of the box and put it on the floor in the kitchen area,or maybe I just cant find pics showing this/

We have a hard floor and yes you're right, the fridge is outside the annexe. We generally only put up the roof and 1 wall of the annexe and then go "outside" to the fridge as required.

The Complete Camsite Hard floor fridges are outside, not on the drawbar and are completely covered by the annex so all under cover

Our Campomatic has the fridge in the box on the drawbar, but it is covered by the front awning and can be enclosed by the annex if put up.

A fridge when running generates a lot of heat and noise. I think it is better being on the draw bar. I have a KK and don't have any issues with it being outside. My parents have a bus done up for touring and we borrowed it for a trip away. In the silence of the night the noise of the fridge running was annoying. Maybe something to think about. ;D

l have  Supermatic Escape but l always leave my Engals in the truck . They run from the deepie in the CT with solor back up . lm not to worried about having to walk to the fridge . Though it dose become a well worn track    The running noise is not a problem as its in the truck .

Hi,

In 2009 Cub added a fridge box option to their campers and a extended annex to allow access to the fridge box from within the annex, It was one of the main reasons I chose to purchase my Cub Escape.

I had to modify the shroud which goes over the fridge box and had a wider one made, the cub one was only 50mm, and did not work in wet/windy weather, the wider one shown in the second picture works great.

Hi,

With my ARB fridge inside the fridge box on the draw bar of my Cub Escape, I have never noticed any noise when sleeping in the camper and only a very soft hum when standing near the fridge box when the fridge is running.

It is outside on the kk but under the cover of the annex. If you can be bothered with annex walls then it is completely enclosed.

Our Leisure Matter front fold has the fridge in a front storage box, but it is under the awning and inside the annexe if attached.

Noise has not been an issue to date, we have an ARB 78 litre in the box.
