under seat subwoofers.

Who here has one or used one? How do they compare to a conventional sub?
I cant afford to put one in the boot as i need the space in the explorer so seat is next best option. Not after stereo comp winning bass just something better then the bass from the speakers. Something pretty cheap but not to cheap.

I've got a 10" pioneer slimline sub behind the passsnger seat in a gq ute. It's run off a small 350w amp and a 6" speaker in each door just run off the head unit.
For me this is perfect, being the cab is so small the sub can get the mirrors shaking but doesn't need a powerful system to fill the cab with a full sound.
Been one of my favourite additions to the truck.
Not sure how it would go in a wagon though. Maybe two would do the trick.:D

I think it was about $200 and $80 for the amp

I wish i could justify 2 but i cant. Doesnt need to make my mirrors shake just give a bit of a boost in bass compared to running bass in your in speakers.

Have you considered a good pair of 6X9's? I had an under seat sub from Pioneer many years ago and wasn't up to the task. I then had 6X9's put in and thought the bass was better. Just a thought.

Hey mate,
There are a few options for you.
If you have the five seater, there is a storage area under the forward floor.
I managed to fit two ten inch woofers under there with a custom box.

If you don't want to go that far then be aware that most of the under seat active woofers are fairly poxy.
There are a few good ones,

Hideaway: $450
Kickers one is $150wrms and quite good, however I prefer the one below.

optisound auto8 active: $350
Vibe make an active woofer with an 8" and is also ported. Roughly around $350 each. They sound the best out of the ones that I have heard so far.

TS-WX710A $499 (roughly)
Pioneer make a pretty darn good one as well, it isn't an underseat one, but it can be fitted into pretty much anywhere.
Expensive though.

Thanks evolution will speak to the mrs bout the ones you suggested. Unfortunately we have the 7 seater and need the seats in the rear (4 kids plus me and wife) which leaves no room to put behind them seats as we need the space.
