No crows, but we hit (got hit by?) a galah north of Broken Hill a couple of years ago.  Flew up and straight into the middle of the windscreen, hit so hard that the rear view mirror flew off, and we nearly had a heart attack.  Didn't break the mirror mount, but the shock force must have made the mirror pop off.  I reckon if it had been filmed the slow motion play back would have been awesome.

Hey gv 2003,

On your quote of being on the look out for drop bears, you've got your N and O around the wrong way.  ;D

We collected 3 crows together on the road between Horsham and Mildura in September, all 3 were hit by the bull bar, 2 then going under the car the last stuck between the bar and grill. lucky no damage to the car or new bull bar.

We'll Bob I think you may have the record with 3 on one trip.  Driving to work this morning I took out a bird with the UHF antenna (first time with the antenna). They don't seem to recover too well after a hit on the UHF antenna. I think it was an Indian Mynah. Still no luck with a crow.

but I did hit a Kookaburra many years ago in a Datsun 180B.
He/she swooped down in front of me and got creamed at 100kph.

Thats BS, everyone knows the Dattys top speed was 97kph ;D

We were out the back of Shepparton, the missus was driving and there was a flock of cockies on the road ahead. I told the missus to hold her line and speed and they would fly off. Well they didn't fly off and she cleaned up quite a few. I was pulling bits of cockie out of the car for days.

just south of the Exmouth turnoff in March last year at about 0300 I spotted one just about halfway on the road but it was facing the right hand edge, so I backed off a bit and moved left, then the bugger turned and went straight for my ute, I braked hard, dropped a couple of f bombs and couldn't swerve as I would have rolled and with wife and kids in the car, well I'm sure his tongue and nostrils rubbed themselves on my drivers side window...pulled over and regathered my self and continued on.

coming back two days later in roughly the same spot, there was a cow with its front half missing! presume a truck cleaned it up!
