Wodonga creek used to hold fish, also off the bank on the Murray.
Bait - worms, corn or cheese

Always found the kids very reluctant to hang onto the hook.

Sorry mate, I just saw your PM's.
I'm only on the phone at the moment and having a but of trouble seeing them on here.
The Hume weir is OK, but not the best if your on the bank.
Allot of people seem to fish just on the other side of the dam wall, just down near the bridge.

I'm not the best person to ask though, as I'm the one who people take fishing because they know I will not catch anything and leave more for them.

Mg biggest advice though is that be specific about where you are fishing and get the appropriate licence. The Murray river is a NSW as is the left hand side of the weir after bethanger bridge. However the other side of the weir is a Vic licence.

Hi All - thanks for the advce.  I think the kids will hang (whilst eating cheese and hanging onto a worm) on to the hook as I am going to fish from the wall to the river side so one hell of a drop.

Anywhere along the Hume Weir banks will usually guarantee a carp or two. Another family friendly spot on the river on the Albury side is Mungabereena reserve or down the end of Waterworks road.  If fishing below the weir wall with kids, just be careful as the current is quite strong and the water coming out of the bottom is usually icy cold.

Another spot, but it's been a while since I've been there is to follow Melrose Drive over the freeway (heading towards the Murray River) and there's some roads that head into farmland and sand quaries. There's bridges crossing what I think is the Wodonga Creek. As long as not on private property, you could try near these bridges.
