Just like to say thanks to GGpatrol for spending the entire day working on installing the wiring etc for dual battery system and also my uhf radio and antenna. So much appreciated. Thanks also to yr family for allowing you to do it.

Garrick is a ripper bloke. Helped me out with the 12v setup on the camper. He would literally cut his arm of for you ;D and a pleasure to share a campfire with his family. Vote #1 GG for prime minister :cheers:

No problems Linda, how did you find the UHF on the way home. For those curoius we fitted a second battery tray, redarc controller and associated cabling to the rear to charge the camper. A huge antenna with the biggest spring I have seen in a while and a remote head UHF which was nice and compact. Several metres of 6B&S were consumed on the day with a good handfull of cable ties thrown in the mix. A dedicated fridge connection was also installed in the rear cargo area and the anderson brigade were called into action to keep it cool.

All that is needed to top it off is a couple of batteries and all will be good. A good day crawling around a Toyota which was pretty user friendly for cabling and the likes. I was a little busy to documnet the install but if Linda wants to show my handi work thats fine, most of its hidden inside chassis rails and behind black tubing and a couple of rolls of McGirrs tape.

The uhf was interesting listening with an argument and a few naughty words spoken lol.

Here are the pics of GGs great work on sunday  ;D

The GME radio mike. The tiny radio is hidden behind the glove box.


The antenna..solid as a brick s....house


The charcoal canister in its new position. It needed to be shifted from the right to the left of the engine to make room for the second battery.


The new tray where the charcoal canister was. This is where the starter battery will sit. Sorry cut a bit off it with the framing of the pic.


How things are looking now. The new battery is going in on Thursday, an easy job now.

A good gromit was found to run the cable through to the back


there it goes...


This is the back end where one bit branches up into the boot with an Anderson plug for the fridge( a gromit was found in the cavity where the jack and tools fit), and the other bit continues on to end with an Anderson plug for the battery in the camper

Also GG put an Anderson plug on the cable on the camper trailer. Its new battery will be in on the weekend  :cheers:  :cheers: and more  :cheers: to GGPatrol an awesome guy!

no I didn't. Your the second person to ask that, but I think I can unscrew it and take it off when not needed. I will see how it goes in the hills this weekend, if its all good I wont worry about a stubby one.

Yes you can.  It should have come with a small Allen key to loosen a grub screw before unscrewing it.  Should have also come with a little plastic cover to slip onto the spring when the aerial is removed.
