I have never had one but I do know from my family who have lived in the bush were fresh bread is a rarity  all of their life that the only brand to consider is Panasonic. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Hey, we have a breville that we bought 16 years ago, love it, we make more pizza and breadroll dough in it than cooking bread but it has lasted this long...

I have had a few, got sick of eating too much bread.. cos the loaf thats made in the bread maker comes out too big, yes you could only have one slice, but it doesnt keep very long, well not the loaves we were making.

I tried bread mixes and I tried total home made from scratch, bread oil milk powder etc.

Now days we use a bread mix for making pizza dough, just finished eating my left over half of pizza from last night.
Bread maker is long gone, I mix the bread dough by hand in a bowl these days, it takes very little effort and in our opinion is the best dough..

We used to have a breville bread maker, worked a treat and you could time it to make ya bread for first thing in the morning, it was yummy..

you could use a bread maker to make the dough and then put it in a smaller tray then bake it in a normal oven. Or you could make the dough by hand and do the same thing.
the benefit of a bread maker is having fresh bread first thing in the morning.

I suggest make the bread mix by hand then bake in your oven a few times before you buy a bread maker..

Hi samstruck

I have been using the Breville breadmaker  for some years now and have had a good run out of them ,I think that  I am onto our third one now,   we are a family of 6 so it gets used every day and twice some days and eventually the non-stick wears out in the pan. I mostly put the loaf on before I go to bed that way it is ready for the morning breaky /sandwich making run . I have found that the upright loaf tin the best for our needs as it will make square slices when cut, much like what you buy in the shops.

As  far as the mixture goes it is a my own blend of Defiance white bread flour and grain flour ,with sugar, water, oil, yeast, bread improver and milk powder added. I don't like bought bread now that we have been cooking our own it has so much more substance than the shop stuff

Our maker is a Breville BBM300 and  is just over 2.5 yrs old and going well

happy baking when you get one

I agree with Brumby, my wife makes all our bread now, sour dough. We don't buy from the store anymore. We are a family of six, teenage girl (eats the best part of bug all) two teenage boys ( eat anything that moves, if it doesn't move they push it) the wee grommet who looks and eats like a fairy.
We would as a family clean up two loaves a day of packet bread. Four loaves of yummy home baked sour dough does us a week now.
She has a pot of yeast starter stuff bubbling away all the time and feeds it every morning.

BUT do get a bread maker for making jam!!!!
We have a Sunbeam, it gets a flogging in Summer making jam, which lasts us for the rest of the year. Tastes great on sour dough  ;D
