My 25W 240V soldering iron works well via an inverter.
I must admit I haven't tried that. I don't use my inverter much so forget it is packed. Occasional laptop charging is about all. Thanks, I'll give it a go.:D

wow so many ppl bought similar useless things like me, vacuum sealer at 4wd show, 12 v jug (15 years old now, still only used once), 12v soldering iron, exhaust jack.. etc etc..

we all need to think twice or more before we buy stuff, especially unplanned stuff at shows.

1. Fly fishing rod and gear - why any fish would bite at a bunch of feathers with a hook in it beats me.
2. Geo tracker - the thing was supposed to track where I was going.  When it worked, it was accurate to only about 10m.
3. Second hand film camera - tried to rekindle the good old days of film - waste of time.
4. Tripod off fleeBay - learnt a lesson, if you don't buy the best tripod, you will eventually.
5. Mini TJM air compressor - useless for 4 off-road tyres.
6. Cheap SCA grease gun - though it would be good enough but I was wrong.
7. Cheap coffee grinder - learnt that the grinder is the most important part of making good coffee.

Staun tyre deflator. Too inaccurate. Since got ARB Ezydeflator - much better, accurate, faster (just be sure to properly reseat the valve core - they can fire off a long way and then you've got the fastest deflation possible!).

Most of what has been put up I can see yes waste of money. But vacuum sealer? They are great, we use ours all the time.

I think what is being referred to here is the camping system that uses reusable plastic bags with a special valve for the hand pump to draw the air out - just like the one we have sitting in a drawer somewhere.

A proper vacuum sealer is a totally different thing altogether.
Camping is great as long as the mattress is inner spring!

a pedometer

I've been thinking of getting one to see how far i go in a day mowing.

Does it work ok?

Would you be interested in swapping a useless/magnificent waeco 12 volt jug for it.
The jug works perfect too, only 9 and half hours and you have a luke warm cuppa and a flat battery.

A little confused. Is it used for food?
Looks like I having been living under a rock. I want one now. Even if they are useless. Everyone else seems to have one.

many many many things :(
worse was a Kia sportage, as we didnt have money for Vitara.
From auto hubs never work, kept blowing rear windscreen fuse but power windows and air con would also stop.
Randomly would not start, issue with wiring to starter motor.
Paid $7500 (including a $3000 trade in on wifes excel)
another $1000 on 40mm springs, spot lights
Was only on road for 6 months of the 12 we owned it for due to consistant issues, sold it for $2200.
:(
still trying to catch up after having to take loan out on a new family car and getting ripped off with heaps of extras, unwanted except for extented warranty tha saved us some coin..
