Hurricane lamp and citronella
« on: October 17, 2013, 06:58:12 PM »
Does anyone on here use citronella in the old style kero / hurricane lamps?

Do they work OK as a mozzie repellant or are they just a dull glow in the corner.

Have used Mr Google but am after some myswag experience.

Thanks

I have found these to be the best way to keep the mozzies away.

I have never heard of this and where we live there are mosquitoes everywhere at the moment. Late rains and now warmer weather = mozzie plague. Off to the big green shed to buy old kero lamps in the morning. Love it.  Thank you.

Well after a couple of months I can vouch that these work well around the outside living area.

Will be buying a couple to keep in the camper now.

The smokeless citronella seems to work ok.
